David Bell, MD – Orthopedics

Dr. David Bell, M.D., is a sports-trained orthopaedic surgeon and leads the Bell Sports Medicine Institute. He is committed to getting patients healthy, healed and fit, and to bring innovation to the highest quality orthopaedic care.

Dr. Bell is in the first group of orthopaedic surgeons to receive a specialty certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Bell trained at Stanford University, Baylor College of Medicine, the University of California at Irvine Medical Center, and completed a fellowship in Arthroscopic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the Fowler-Kennedy Clinic in Ontario, Canada.

With over ten years of orthopaedic experience in the Bay Area, his reputation draws patients from all over Northern California. His specialty is orthopaedic sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery, and treats athletes from youth into adulthood in all life stages. He is the founding director of the Sports Medicine program at Washington Hospital. He has served as the team physician for the San Jose Stealth Professional Lacrosse team, Valley Christian High School Vikings, Cal-State East Bay Pioneers and the Ohlone College Renegades. Dr. Bell is affiliated with Velocity Sports Performance, and was the Velocity-Dublin Adult Fit Athlete of the Month in January 2009.

Dr. Bell’s interests include running and cycling, coaching youth sports, church ministries, playing bass guitar in local band Batch-22, and hanging out with his wife and four kids.
